ANCESTARL WOMAN

Exalted faces of our Ancestors,
Paint themselves before my eyes,
Nefertiti, Cleopatra, Kadeesha, Mary,
Joan of Arc, Pocohontas, Sojourner
Truth, Harriet Tubman, Sarah B.
Anthony, Eleanor Roosevelt, Fannie
Lou Hamer and Rosa Parks.

A myriad of traveling Womanly souls,
Wandering timelessly, planting the seeds,
For future generations to harvest,
Linking spirit to spirit,
Harmonizing with the energy of womankind.

A WOMAN I AM

I will make no excuses
For being a woman,
A woman, the woman, I am.

I exalt in my womanhood,
As I possess creative powers,
A woman, the woman, I am.

I am a daughter of a woman,
a woman, the woman, I am.
I am a mother of a woman,
A woman, the woman, I am.

I am endowed with special knowing,
a woman, the woman, I am,
My higher power blesses me abundantly,
A woman, the woman, I am.

My earthly connection to my heavenly
Connection makes me the
Woman, the woman, I am.
The Color of Noontide

It appears not as a paupers dream
Nor as a rich man's paradise.
It is not a front page headline
Nor fifteen minutes of fame.
It is Powerful,
It is Cosmic,
It is Energy
Consummating forces into
Daily challenges,
It is an unabridged chapter
Of timelessness.
The Dimensions of Love

How often did we mingle the honeyed
        taste or our lips?
Soaring to ususpected heights,
Too soon were we parted still unfulfilled
Yet to meet once again in blissful
          remembrance.

Dreams filled the empty spaces of
         our yearnings,
Until the reawakening of long
         repressed desires,
The dimensions of our love knew no
earthly boundaries of time or space.

POEMS OF SOUL
NIGHT (TIME)

Suddenly you turn and yesterday
Has become a whisper,
The sun shapes a new day,
And you fight to keep the night away
Once again.

You race the morning,
You chase the day,
You leap across the eve,
Only to find the darkness has descended
And the night is waiting.

The promises and realities of the day
Become memories only,
As the cool breeze of the night
Pushes them away.

The night has now become host to dreams.
