Complex
There she goes again,
Lady of hearts,
I knew she would come this direction.
Necks and heads bend in her position,
Minds she toss, hearts she breaks.

A lady my fear
Can I know why?
Yet love have felled me so much for her.
O love were but to me a page
Then ne'er would I cower for her.

Hand in hand, fleshly confluence.
One smile, two smiles
Both talk and laugh.
How that guy faints me dead with hatred,
And she doesn't even feel I care.

O lady, my lady,
Hear my heart.
Your magnet so strong I can't resist,
My dreams brim of none entity but you,
Come prod me, the lady
I wish I could talk.
Missing She

Days go by and nights trudge on,
The sky is empty, clouds heavy
Silence so loud in streets full of people
The children cry and play like statues
Statue, my heart and soul
Fixed in dreams, fantasies of you
One minute like forever,
Eternity without you
You, my heart
I will always love you.
NATURAL MYSTIC, by Doghudje Doghudje
Surulere Lagos, Nigeria. July 1, 2002

When the wind played music,
The trees whispered gleely to one another
Bent succulent behinds and danced.
To which the sun lusted
And smiled extra beams.
Which stirred passion in the sea
Shimmering, shivering and tossing
Like a virgin
On the day of discovery.
The flowers wave and clap to the birds'
Synchronised ballet to the tune
In the blue theatre of the clouds.
But all was hushed by the moon
Whose pale face a tragic ballad
Of her faithfuless bloke cavort
With teenish belles in space
Now she conducted the wind
Into elegiac adagios of love
And told her children of stars
To twinkle their tears on nature.
INSPIRATION

From where do you come, my darling
That you look so charming and sweet
See your face as radiant as the sun
And your fragrance fresh as of dew
I so treasure those eyes of diamond
Pure and innocent like a child's
A waterfall of ebony your hair
Silk and smooth they are
Your nose much like the white man's
A beauty, a mystery of its own
Smile, my love, please smile
Smile and knock me off my feet again.

POEMS OF SOUL
LOVE
love alone i can't understand
a heart of love, a heavy burden
a loveless heart , a heavier burden
which then could be better

my life i have got to live
heights i really must climb
but how is it i can read or climb
with a heart heavy from love or not

how very scarce true love could be
money spent, energy wasted
yet true love remains evasive
pocket for  the heart, words for the mind
how then can true love be found

love alone conquers a man
my soul and spirit drained of strength
body and mind weak of will
how i wish i never knew love
how much i yearn for what is real love
DESIRE
What else can i think of?
how else can i imagine?
this feeling won't leave me
the desire can't go

where are you, my dreams?
where do you go my heart?
my body weaks from loving you
my soul sinks from seeking you
away my sorrow,

leave me
free me into my dreams
for there i am comforted
to meet my heart, a queen.
RAINBOW RAIN
if only you could rain again today
the way you rained yesterday
and leave a rainbow tomorrow
like you left before

even though the years go by
seasons come and go
still your rainbow nourish me
with colourful joy at midday
it zips across the cloudy sky
invisible aurora at dusk
and at dawn,

it binds my heart with strength
at the sight of your epitaph
knowing you live forever
and ever and even more.
ODYSSEY
sun bask at noon
frayed nerves frying
thirst herculean dense
body limps from frenzy
sloppy drags bedraggles
scattered soul to sheol
night of road is nigh? no!
bight of quest is burned? yes!!
yet light must end the tunnel
even yet, so yet it must
and ligaments suckle fat on hope
arid winds refine passion
prejudice laugh at odyssey
patientful my lonely trudge
with zeal to laugh the longest.
BE THY VAL
My Countrymen unite
Pray, crucify she-hatchet
Whose cord is bent by years
Her hair a gray from time
Tis colourless love we need
To plenty peace and feast
Ne'er allergy of tribe or language
Which fathers blood and tears
Be thy val., North and South
Intersperse, East and West
For we mother who born
Across rainbow rivers and lakes
Among the hills, bland plateaus,
           down valleys
Through thick rainforests and deserts
To one Nation she weld.

BETRAYAL
Because love to me was first
I was hately rewarded first
Because I cared to make few friends
I have lost count of my enemies
Because I feared to harm a fly
I was harmed much severely
Because I gave my food in all
I now boast and strut with beggars
Because I was loyal like a dog
Now I have no confidant
Because I took the truth to heart
I swallowed in all their truthful lies
Because I made wisdom my mother
I am orphaned by foolishness
How wicked it is to be good
And good to be wicked
This betrayal I can't repay
But yet I can't retain.
HOLD ME HIGH
Hold me high,
Above my head.
Above wet waters that run wide
Amidst famished fire that eats all
Around the bend that never ends
Through this world,
the days of my life
Hold me high.
